100 days | Olive Ruth

As I was updating my weekly photo folder with last wednesday's bath picture, I realized that the photo was taken on the 100th day of her life.

It's true what they say, once they are here you can't imagine life without.  I think she's a keeper.

100 days.  Crazy.

Shop news + a sad little eye.

Hi friends.

This post was supposed to be finished this morning.  But then this happened:

My baby's first big fall.  Don't get me wrong, he falls A LOT.  But this was the first one that left him with a battle wound and broke this mama's heart.  I mean look at him.  That eye.  We had it checked out and thankfully there are no stitches necessary.  He was up, running, and acting like nothing happened within minutes.  He's one tough little dude.

Okay, moving on :)

Shop news.

It's been a while since I gave a little shop update.  So, I figured it was about time!

I have taken all handmade products out of the shop.

My focus for 2014 is prints.  Kid & Nursery prints to be exact.  I toddled with this last year, but really wanted to put all my eggs in one basket.  My heart behind these prints is to create modern designs that inspire and encourage the little ones in our lives.  I plan to interweave encouragement and scripture into the designs all while keeping them young and fun for a kid's room.

I need a little time to put on some finishing touches...so the shop will reopen next friday (January 31st!) --- mark your calendars!

But I'm a sucker for spoiling surprises...so...I'll give you just a little peak.
(since you're begging me and all...)

This and That

As of today, I officially have a 7 week old.  She's letting me sleep a liiiiiitle bit longer at night, but there's still room for improvement.  But then there's this, come on…

We've got a busy week around here...including a blog rebrand install and our annual Journey to Bethlehem interactive nativity that our church puts on.  If you don't have plans this weekend, please oh please come check it out.  You won't regret it.  Oh, and there just might be a certain little 7 week old girl wrapped up in a (heated) manger.  Just maybe…

In shop news, we had a great response for the Keep + Give Giveaway…but you'll have to wait just a few hours for the winner reveal!  I will announce it on IG and twitter during nap time.   While you are waiting though, we still have a few sets available in the shop if you are in need of any last minute Christmas gifts!

For those who don't follow me on Twitter, you missed my mom-brain moment last week.  I hadn't blogged it till now because I was just too upset.  I ordered Olive's birth announcements and may have forgotten to put her birthdate on them.  Okay I did.  I forgot.  I forgot to put my daughter's birthdate on her birth announcements.  Go ahead and send in those nominations for mom of the year.  I'll take you all down.  So, please, shoot me your best ideas on how I can DIY the date on these suckers.  Please?

That's all I've got for now.  But I'll leave you with some pictures that will make you swoon even more than those chunky cheeks up above…

your welcome.

// Keep + Give Giveaway //

I sat down in early January with a piece of paper and a couple colored sharpies.  I drew out this silly looking grid with 100 boxes.  I didn't know what I wanted my shop to look like.  I didn't know what all I wanted to sell and design and create.  I wasn't sure if I was even going to blog or not.  But I made a small goal.  I wanted to sell 100 sets of burp cloths by the end of the year.

...and I did.  I crossed out those 100 boxes only a few months into the year.  And I am so thankful for all of you that helped me reach that goal.  I've sewn late into the night and 100's of swaddles and burp cloths have been sent out all over the country.

But my sore little fingers and my little humans are asking me to make a change.  A good one.  In 2014 the Beautifully Esoteric Shop is going to look a little different.  I will say more on that later.  Just think prints, scriptures, lyrics, more adorable animals, and lots of color. We are still putting the final touches on the "vision" (and yes, if you read Tuesday's post you are laughing along with me...), but we plan to roll out some fresh ideas around the first of the year.

So, as a way to say thanks, I wanted to do a little giveaway that keeps on giving!

With 2014 being just around the corner, I have released my 2014 Calendar Card Set.

These 4x6 cards are perfect to sit on your desk, hang on your refrigerator, or even keep in your bag on the go!

And you can't go wrong with a fun floral theme, right?

So, here's the deal...the giveaway is for 2 Calendar sets.  If you win, you keep a set for yourself, but you have to gift the other set to a friend.   Deal? Deal.

Go ahead and enter below!  You have until Monday at midnight CST to enter.  Thanks + good luck!
