Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week. For those of your unfamiliar with the idea, Not Me! Monday was born out of a desire to admit some of our imperfections and reveal a few moments we'd rather forget. You may find it therapeutic to join in and do the same thing!
Things I have not done this week:
I have not had a hard time waking up and so I have not been grumpy each morning this week. I would never ever yell at my husband for putting clothes in the dryer, talking too much, or even looking at me. And I am surely not the kind of wife who would make him stop what he was doing and look me in the eyes while I lecture him on the etiquette of waking up your wife nicely...I mean who would do that?
(Oh and this "hard time waking up" issue would have nothing to do with the fact that I have been staying up until at least 2am everynight working on a little secret of mine...)
It wasn't me who realized the other night that I haven't gotten a haircut since March. I'm not that lazy or cheap - I care about what I look like...And neither would I have shared that information with friends and then spent the evening looking through old pictures of my past nightmare hairstyles. I would never open myself up to that embarrassment. Not me!
just some of my favorites :)
Also, I did not spend all last night organizing my wedding pictures, by number. I would never sit for hours making sure that they were in the exact order that they were taken in before deciding which ones were going in the photo album. I am not that anal. Seriously, not me!
And that being said, don't worry, I would not be the bride who has kept her wedding pictures in a box for the past year...
After my victory post, Bryan felt like he needed to give me more chances at cooking. So, after him talking me into making dinner again this week, I definitely would not have ended up with a meal that we couldn't even eat. It wasn't me who completely ruined the rice (yes, you heard me, rice), burnt the zucchini, and served my husband undercooked fish. I couldn't possibly mess up all 3 parts of the meal - surely I'm a better cook than that!
This is (not) how I looked the rest of the night
after eating half of a partially cooked tilapia filet...
And later when ashamedly sharing my dinner failure with my mom, it wasn't me who realized for the first time that the broiler is on the top of the oven, not the bottom. I would never have put the fish on the very bottom rack and thought that it would have turned out. Not me!
Also, it wouldn't have been me that same night who snuck into the kitchen at 2am to eat the rest of the bag of hawaiian bread because I was still hungry. And definitely not me who was caught the very next night eating cookies and milk around the same time in the morning. I would never eat that kind of junk so late at night. Never!
And lastly, it's not my husband who is preaching at church this Sunday for his first time. And I am definitely not more nervous about it than he is...
What have you not done this week? Please comment, I'd love to know I'm not alone!
I did not make brownies yesterday and peanut butter cookies today. I'm pregnant so consuming sweets like this would just not be healthy so I would never do it ;)
ReplyDeleteOk can I just say how much I enjoy reading your blog?! I always laugh out loud at least once, haha. Good luck to Bryan this week!! How exciting!
ReplyDeletelol funny..you mean we are supposed to get hair cuts more than once a year? LOL
ReplyDeleteI definitely did NOT see a woman nursing openly at the palisade peach festival, and definitely did NOT try really hard to get a picture of it! And I totally did NOT organize and make a school schedule for my husband because I of course DON'T miss organizing schedules!
